Award

APES2014 Young Scientist Award:

As a continuation of APES traditions, APES2014 Young Scientist Award will be established to provide support to scientists at the beginning of their careers. Award will be made for excellence involving EPR in any field covered by physics, materials science, chemistry, biology and medicine. It is proposed to make two awards up to JPY 80,000 each towards expenses involved in attending APES2014. The Awardees will also be presented with a Certificate and a Citation describing the work for which the award has been made.

Please download the Application Form for APES2014 Young Scientist Award, the APES-IES-SEST2014 abstract template and the submission form template for the preparation. Applications should be submitted between April 1 ~ May 30, 2014. The subject of e-mail should be “Application for APES2014 Young Scientist Award”. The names of attached abstracts and submission form files should be “FamilyName-Ab.doc”, “FamilyName-Ab.pdf” and “FamilyName-Form.xls”. Please change the “FamilyName” to your family name.


Notes on APES2014 Young Scientist Award:

  1. Participants at APES2014 who have held a PhD degree in 2009 or later will be eligible to apply for an APES2014 Young Scientist Award. Please send a curriculum vitae including a list of publications and the names of three referees, who may be consulted by the Selection Committee, along with the application form, the abstract (both Word and PDF files) together with the submission form (Excel file) to the Secretary General of APES2014 (apes@kobe-u.ac.jp).
  2. The Selection Committee will be nominated by LOC.
  3. The Selection Committee reserves the right to make no award.
  4. The awardees will have the opportunity to give the oral presentation at the symposium. Awards will be only be made if the awardees present their works in the symposium orally and join APES in the registration.
  5. These guidelines are subject to change.


APES2014 Travel Bursaries:

Limited funds will be available to help students and post-docs in attending APES2014. The bursaries will only be paid if the granted applicants present their works in person at the symposium either orally or as a poster.

Please download the Application Form for APES2014 Travel Bursaries, the APES-IES-SEST2014 abstract template and the submission form template for the preparation. Applications should be submitted between April 1 ~ May 30, 2014 along with the application form, the document of your current status, the abstract (both Word and PDF files) together with the submission form (Excel file) to the Secretary General of APES2014 (apes@kobe-u.ac.jp). The subject of e-mail should be “Application for APES2014 Travel Bursaries”. The names of attached abstracts and submission form files should be “FamilyName-Ab.doc”, “FamilyName-Ab.pdf” and “FamilyName-Form.xls”. Please change the “FamilyName” to your family name.

Notes on APES2014 Travel Bursaries:

  1. APES2014 Travel Bursaries will be available to currently-enrolled graduate students or early career EPR scientists who have received their doctoral degrees in 2011 or later. Please send the document of your current status (a copy of the diploma or a letter of verification from a department chairperson or faculty/research advisor) along with the application form, the abstract (both Word and PDF files) together with the submission form (Excel file) to the Secretary General of APES2014 (apes@kobe-u.ac.jp).
  2. The Selection Committee will be nominated by LOC.
  3. The selected applicants will be awarded up to JPY 50,000. The actual amount of award will reflect the distance from the venue.
  4. Applications from all regions are welcome. However, preferences will be given to the applicants originated or coming from Asia-Pacific region except Japan.
  5. These guidelines are subject to change.


APES2014 Poster Awards:

Limited number of APES2014 Poster Awards is available to encourage students and post-docs to present their works in APES2014. No APES membership is required. The awards will only be awarded if the students or post-docs present their posters by themselves at the meeting. Please express your interest for the APES2014 Poster Award in the submission form. (See Abstract for the details.)

Notes on APES2014 Poster Awards:

  1. The recipients of APES2014 Poster Award will be selected during the symposium by the referees nominated by LOC.
  2. The recipients will be awarded JPY 20,000. The Awardees will also be presented with a Certificate.
  3. These guidelines are subject to change.



IES Poster Awards:

First IES Poster Award was presented at the Rocky Mountain Conference in 2013 to encourage students and post-docs to present their works. It will be presented at APES-IES-SEST2014 this year. No IES membership is required. The awards will only be awarded if the students or post-docs present their posters by themselves at the symposium. Please express your interest for the IES Poster Award in the submission form. (See Abstract for the details.)

Notes on IES Poster Awards:

  1. The recipients of IES Poster Award will be selected during the symposium by the referees nominated by LOC.
  2. The recipients will be awarded up to US$ 200. The Awardees will also be presented with a Certificate.
  3. These guidelines are subject to change.
